PAEDIATRIC FIBEROPTIC BRONCHOSCOPY

Paediatric Flexible Bronchoscope:

Bronchoscopy is a procedure to view the trachea and lungs, so that accurate diagnosis of the trachea and lung diseases can be made and our hospital has facilities to carry out a flexible bronchoscopy, including the pediatric flexible bronchoscopy.

Common reasons for carrying out a bronchoscopy are as follows:

1. Persistent cough that is not amenable to medical treatment.
2. Chest infection with unusual finding(s) on a chest X-ray.
3. Foreign body removal in the trachea and the lungs
4. Bronchoscopy can also be used to obtain samples of mucus or lung tissue.
